Trial Attorney

I got comfortable trying cases very early in my career by prosecuting scores of misdemeanor and juvenile offenses as a special assistant county attorney. I have appeared in cases in almost one-quarter of Minnesota’s 87 counties and have tried over 100 cases to verdict, including court trials and jury trials in both state and federal court. I have tried cases in the federal courts of four different states, and have handled appeals not only at the Minnesota Court of Appeals and Minnesota Supreme Court but in several federal Circuit Courts of Appeal as well.

Bankruptcy Attorney

I have represented individual and corporate debtors, individual creditors and committees of creditors, and trustees in essentially all types of bankruptcy cases and bankruptcy adversary proceedings. My bankruptcy experience includes ten years on the Panel of Chapter 7 Trustees, during which time I handled roughly 6,000 Ch. 7 bankruptcy cases, and five years on the adjunct faculty of William Mitchell College of Law teaching bankruptcy and debtor/creditor law.
